Long Weekend Entertainment at Penticton Speedway-ThinkLocal

The Penticton Speedway opened in 1969 and has created a large community ever since. One of Speedway’s most important weekends is approaching to honor Gordy Mannes, who has invested in Speedway in different ways. The Gordimness Feedway 500 Memorial Invitational runs from July 29th to July 31st.

Last year, the truck was purchased by Ingo and Trevor Seibert. They made some design changes to the truck to make every seat in the house better.

We also offer exhilarating races. “The new track design makes it a very exciting fan race. It’s a very exciting fan entertainment because drivers can race 3-4 wide without getting involved in a lot of incidents,” says Ingo. ..

Ingo’s cousin, Trevor, was essentially a race car. He redesigned the track to have a steep embankment for racers to pass at high speeds. He almost always visits door to door.

The racers themselves are very enthusiastic about doing a good show for their fans. “Whether it’s street stock or pass racers who have spent a lot of time preparing their cars and seasons, there are really really good classes and racers. They have done a great job of decorating their cars. And they are really excited to do the show. Many people raced during the COVID, but no one could see it. I would like to thank all the drivers. After all, they are entertainers. The level of commitment from drivers in all classes is very impressive, “adds Ingo.

The weekend itself began 20 years ago under the ownership of Johnny and Jasmine Anches. They found it important to honor those who invested in sports and trucks. “Gordy was the most successful driver on the Penticton Speedway throughout the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. As a driver, he was the man everyone wanted to win and won more championships than anyone else. He was also involved in making cars and helping others. There was also a period when he was in control of the truck. He did it all. Gordy worked hard and Known for playing hard, this is a tradition that has been passed down to the Speedway, “says Johnny.

Johnny himself loves racing as well as the community. Before handing the torch to the Saybert family, Johnny didn’t have much time to race himself and he was holding the steering wheel for this year’s commemorative race. Johnny’s expert crew has built an impressive car and is ready for the race.

Johnny and Jasmine have expanded their business skills and affection, not just Speedway. They were familiar with animals and wanted to go back to the basics when it comes to feeding their families. When they started their farm, they discovered how difficult it was to find livestock feed near them, so they opened a livestock store named Feedway and the fourth store in Grand Forks ever since. Opened. They put their heart and soul into Gordie Mannes Memorial Invitational, so it only makes sense to sponsor the weekend.

“For years, local beloved business owner and racing driver Neil Jamison has sponsored the weekend. Sadly, he died a few years ago, but we’re on this anniversary weekend. I wanted to keep the memories of Gordy and Neil through, “says Johnny.

“Racers are a big family. It’s a weekend we can enjoy, we have a great fun event for the family to join and we can remember the people who have passed by.”

On weekends, 80 racers and up to 4500 spectators gather. In addition to heart pumping races, you can get excited about live music, face painting and food trucks. It’s hard to find so much entertainment at such a reasonable cost.
