Things to consider when wideout to OROY’s back: Who throws him the ball?

FOX Bet sports trader Michael Hoey said, “I love stories about teams where top QBs make the most of their rookies.” Did.”

Caesars sportsbook content writer Max Meyer explained that the lack of a quarterback in the first 10 picks last April paved the way for the receiver to win the OROY trophy.

“I think bettors were eyeing the Offensive Rookie of the Year mid-round receiver because there were no solid quarterback prospects in this class,” Mayer said. “It created a really wide open market.”

Mayer pointed out that Christian Watson, Jalen Tolbert, Romeo Dubs and Skye Moore were among the top five drivers at Caesars.

Hoey gave his thoughts on the quartet.

“Dubs could be an instant star and Aaron Rodgers’ main receiver, according to sources in the Green Bay camp,” Hoey said. “The departure of Davante Adams leaves us with a staggering 169 unoccupied targets, of which we feel Dubs can claim some.”

To replace Adams, the Packers drafted Watson in the second round and Dubs in the fourth.

“Watson has so far had second thoughts about Romeo Dubs because of his injuries,” Hoey said, noting that Watson had recently been released from the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list. .

CeeDee Lamb plays a bigger role in the Cowboys’ offense and explains Amari Cooper’s departure. This opens a high slot in Tolbert’s depth chart.

“We believe Tolbert can speak out as the WR2 behind Ram with a strong offense that finished first in points and yards per game in the 2021 season,” declared Hoey.

Hoey said he wouldn’t be surprised if Moore became the Chiefs’ version of Atlanta’s versatile Cordarrell Patterson.

“Perhaps the most interesting and hyped offensive rookie is Kansas City’s Sky Moore,” Hoey hypothesized. “Reports from training camp say he will be used not only in the receiving game, but also in the running game.

“If Moore has both rushing and receiving and is alongside one of the top QBs in the league, we feel he could take home the Offensive Rookie of the Year award.”

Meyer has rounded up the potential rookie receivers for these later rounds.

“They have some things in common. They play good quarterbacks and have the opportunity to gain yardage on those teams,” Meyer said. “Add these longer odds and you can understand why these particular rookie wideouts have caught the attention of many bettors.”
